Why did my body freeze?
Three times now I have been nearly asleep, or just waking up, and my body just freezes. Im not able to move a single muscle except for breathing. I couldnt even open my eyes. Last time, it happened to me on the couch. I froze, and I kept trying as hard as i could to move, but it didnt work. Then I tried to relax, and then suddenly move. That didnt work either. Finally, about after 20 seconds, I was finally able to move again. It was probably the scariest sensation of my life. It has happened 3 times now. I am very frightened it will happen again. I want to understand what is happening so maybe i can stop it.
Happened to me a few times, and yes it is scary as all get out!
The worst time, my arm had also fallen asleep, and what woke me was this dead, cold hand lying on my face. My hand was very numb, so I couldn’t feel that the cold stiff hand on my face was my own. And I was paralyzed, eyes closed, just feeling this dead hand on my face. I tried screaming. couldn’t, tried thrashing, couldn’t. Finally I managed to croak out a faint “uuughh”. Then with some huge burst of adrenaline, I managed to scream full bore and grab that dead hand with my left and toss it as far from me as I could. Which wasn’t very far, seeing it was attached to an arm that was attached to … my shoulder. Duhoh! Well, after gasping for air for about ten minutes, and continuing to poke at my now painfully tingling and still pretty limp right arm, I did eventually start to giggle and count my blessings that no one was around to see me screaming at the top of my lungs, wrestling with my own arm!
That said, the phenomenon is known as “sleep paralysis”. Normally when you sleep and dream, the brain shuts down your motor neurons (which work your muscles) so that you don’t physically act out your dreams. And sometimes your brain wakes up before your body switches back on. When that happens, you suffer a very scary round of sleep paralysis. If this continues on a regular basis, you absolutely should talk to a doctor.

How to make it Fun for a toddler??
I have a 17 mos old toddler and i’m a housewife my husband works he comes in the evening and it gets very late shops are about to close, and we have only one car so i have to sit home 5 days a week and we only go out in weekends and i have no family here so i feel sad for my baby that she has no body to socialize and i feel bore too at home. I also want to mention that i live in Chicago and its very freezing here nowadays in summers i used to take her out on a walk outside my home but now i can’t do this any more.
So any suggestions, how can i make it fun for my girl and myself. We can’t buy another car we can’t afford it right now.
is there anyone else stuck in a same situation like mine???

Oh, I feel bad for you. I’m a housewife with a 2 year old and one on the way, and sometimes I get so bored this time of year (I live in Wisconsin). For fun, we sing and dance together, cook, and have arts and crafts (finger paints and crayons). My son loves baths so sometimes I’ll fill up the tub and let him splash around. We also look at books together, we have one called “First 1,000 Words” with pictures and he loves to point at the pictures and say what they are. When all else fails the TV goes on, my son loves The Wiggles and Yo Gabba Gabba. If you have access to a library, they usually have free programs that you can join so your daughter can interact with other kids and you can meet other mommies too.
