Will Clotrimazole Anti-Fungal Cream make a verruca go away?
It says on the box it will work for “fungal skin conditions such as tinea, athlete’s foot, ring worm and candidal infections including nappy rash and jock itch”
Any chance it will work on my verruca?
No, verruca is a wart….a virus…very different from a fungus. I have used some over the counter wart removal and it has worked…it takes a while, but it works to get rid of them. If you can’t find any wart removal at a local drug store, you will need to have a physician (dermatologist) remove them by freezing them. (this is really the best way because it works much faster)
Bad odor coming from my thigh and genital region probably caused by fungi?
Years ago I had a pretty bad case of jock itch. That went away a very long time. However the color of the skin affected by the fungi has become slightly darker ever since. Also the skin in that region is a bit more drier than the rest of the body. But the real problem is sometimes it emits an odor. I wash the area pretty well with soap but it comes back again. I’m guessing the fungi is still there? Should I buy some anti-fungi cream to treat it? I did some research I think Clotrimazole is the best medication?
Clotrimazole works well for yeast, but is not as good for tinea, the fungus that causes jock itch. Terbenifine or tolnaftate is better for that. Usually bad odor is associated with bacterial problems, not fungal infections. For example armpit odor is caused by bacteria that feed on the sweat and so on in the area. Hand sanitizers can kill bacteria pretty well. Try it in a small area to see if it is too drying first.
