How To Heal Splitting Lips Naturally
Many of us find it surprisingly difficult to heal splitting lips, particularly when similar sized cuts or splits on other parts of the body seem to heal much more quickly. These persistent splits are extremely painful as everyday activities such as eating, drinking and speaking all cause movement and reopening of the sores.

Even though you are more likely to have split lips in winter, as extremes of temperature can cause aggravation, it is caused by a bacteria or fungal infection which takes hold on the damp, warm skin at the corners of the lips. The condition is known as angular cheilitis.
A doctor would normally provide a steroid cream to both soothe and heal the area and although this might work temporarily, it does not address the root cause and recurrent outbreaks, each more ferocious than the last, often occur. To heal splitting lips naturally, it is important to isolate the cause of the moisture which must be reaching the affected area.
Common causes of moisture at the edges of the mouth include ill-fitting dentures and dribbling due to pen biting and finger sucking. Taking steps to have dentures corrected and discouraging pen biting etc are good starting points. Bacteria and fungal infection cannot thrive without moisture and air so once you discover how to prevent this happening, you will learn how to heal splitting lips naturally.

My cat has feline dermatitis. Are there any lotions or salve out there to help her?
My cat is a Siamese mix. Over the last year she has been chewing on herself quite a bit. My husband shaved her to get a good look at her skin. She has a line of scabs that run along her spine. The bulk of the scabs are at the base of her tail. I have done some research on feline dermatitis and it said that most cases of the dermatitis are because of fleas. I treat all three of my cats with advantage and they dont appear to have any fleas. Is there any kind of lotions that would help her heal and discourage her from chewing and itching herself?
Yes I did make an appointment with the vet but I can’t get her in until next week. I just wanted something to put on her to make her more comfortable until then

Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s, constipation, and a host of other problems. Male cats are especially prone to blockages
from dry food. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grains and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. ( Have a fat cat?)
An even bigger problem is that it IS dry and it dehydrates no matter how much your cat drinks
Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food. Cats are not naturally big drinkers.
95% of the moisture is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Think about it.
Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don’t use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.

You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn’t have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all.

Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eaters
Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food.
