Facial Cleansers – Homemade Ones You Can Use

There was once a time when facial cleansers and facial soaps did not exist.  Of course, this does not include your regular bar of soap.  Bars of soap have been around for quite some time.  However, facial cleansers that promoted your skin’s health are something that is relatively new to the market.  There were plenty of women and men who had great complexions before facial cleansers were ever even thought of.  This raises the question of just how those people maintained their healthy complexion without the use of the products that are on the market now.  These people were using all natural facial cleansers that they made themselves from items or foods around their home.  In the following article, we will review some ways that you can do the same thing and have healthy skin for half of the price.

A food that is good for both the inside and outside of your body is yogurt.  Not only will it promote general heath on the inside of your body, but it is great to use on your skin.  Yogurt makes a great facial cleanser.  You simply have to apply the yogurt to your skin as you would a lotion and massage it gently into your skin with your fingers.  In fact, you do not even have to use all of your fingers for this job.  You will want to avoid getting the yogurt close to your eyes so you can prevent irritation.  If you would like, you can let the yogurt set on your skin for a minute or so and then wash it off with some warm water.  Once you have it rinsed off of your skin, you can dry up by gently patting your face with a soft towel.  Some people even add oatmeal to their yogurt.  This gives the yogurt exfoliation properties and this combination actually works quite well to exfoliate your skin.  You can add oatmeal to your yogurt whether it is ground up or not, it will still act in the same way.

Vegetable oil is another natural ingredient that has been used for a very long time as a facial cleansing product.  Vegetable oil is best used by those who have skin that is dry and matured due to aging.  When you use vegetable oil on the skin around your face or neck, it will act as a kind of cold cream.  Mixing the vegetable oil with distilled water and honey will also produce a facial cleanser type of product.  You can apply this mixture to your face and leave it there for a few minutes like you would a mask.  Just make sure that you remember to wipe it off before you go doing anything important or falling asleep.

Some women have been known to use the water from their steamed vegetable as their facial cleanser.  This is practical because the water from the steamed vegetable contains the nutrients from those vegetables.  Some women go so far as to save this water by freezing it for later use.  Fruit pulp is another great, natural facial cleanser.  Avocado, banana, squash and other fruits are good to use.  Many women actually make a medley of smashed fruit pulp to use as their facial cleanser.  If you would like to do this, just take the pulp of the fruits you would like in your cleanser and mash them all together.

homemade oil cleanser Questions

Does Sugar and Olive Oil Face Cleanser Work? Other Ideas?

So I need a face cleanser/moisturizer/acne wash made of homemade products that really works. Does water and olive oil work? Any other ideas? THANKS!

Sugar and olive oil aren’t good for your face. The sugar is too harsh of an exfoliator and the olive oil could make you break out. It is, however, a great exfoliator for the rest of you body, where you have tougher skin.
Here are a couple recipes for a homemade scrub:
2-3 teaspoons of cornmeal and a little warm water
2-3 teaspoons of baking soda and a little warm water
2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon ground almonds and 1 ripe strawberry (mashed)
1 tablespoon ground almonds and 1 teasponn rosewater or water
1 tbs ground almonds and 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp milk or cream
1/2 cup dried azuki beans enough water to make a paste (this you can save and use a ton)
1 tbs ground oatmeal and tsp lemon juice and 2 tsp yogurt

any of those you can make a larger amount of and then store them in the fridge or something! <3

im 13 , i have really bad skin … skincare help ??!!!!?

i’m 13, and have really bad skin i have for the past year now and it really sucks! i don’t cover it up with make-up becuase i know that will just make it worse & also i hate wearing it, but i really need some good skin care tips.
I cleanser, tone & mosterize (spell check :s) every morining and night.
but i still end up getting loads of black heads (yuck) spots and redness, & oily skin. :(
is there any good homemade recipes i can make that will help? or any good cleansers ect i can buy? i’ve also heard tea tree oil works good.

:)

I have also tried so many different fash washes and masks but it just made my face dry and I broke out more.
Now the only things that I use are sugar and honey as a face scrub, and if the whole sugar is too harsh for you put it in a food processor so that it is smaller and not so rough, and $2.50 vitamin E oil (yes oil I now you said that you are already oily this just will moisturizes after it soaks in) that I found at the dollar store. I just wash my face and put the oil on before bed because I like to let it soak in and it makes your face really shiny at first. I have not had a break out since I started this, and also the vitamin E will help to reduce the appearance of acne scars which I regrettably have a few of. I wish I had figured this routine out years ago instead to spending so much money on useless face washes, scrubs, masks, you name it I tried it. I think that the honey is what really helps works if you want to omit the sugar and just wash with honey I think that would be fine.
Sometimes I also make my own face masks like these
Honey Facial * (warning – do not use this if you are allergic to eggs!)
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg yoke
1 teaspoon olive oil
Beat the egg yoke with a fork, add the oil and blend well. Add the honey using a spoon that you have rinsed with hot water and blend well again. Smear it all over your face with your fingers, except do not cover your eyes. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.

Cucumber Facial
1 cucumber
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon witch hazel (you can buy this in any drug store)
1 egg white, beaten with an electric beater until fluffy.
Peel the cucumber and run it through a blender or a food processor. Pour the cucumber pulp into a colander or strainer and force it through, catching the liquid that comes out in a bowl underneath. Combine the cucumber liquid with the lemon juice and the witch hazel. Stir it and add the beaten egg white gently. Put it on your face and leave it on for 15 to 25 minutes, then rinse off.
Refreshing Fruit Facials
PEACH TIGHTENING MASK
1 Peach, ripe, peeled, pitted
1 Egg white
Whip the peach and egg white together in a blender until smooth. Gently pat the mixture all over your face. Relax for 30 minutes, then rinse it off with cool water.

APPLE MASK FOR NORMAL SKIN
1 Apple, cored & quartered
2 T Honey
Drop the apple pieces into a food processor and chop. Add honey and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Pat the mixture onto your face with a light tapping motion, tapping until the honey feels tacky. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse.

CUCUMBER MASK FOR OILY SKIN
1/2 Cucumber
1 Egg white
1 T Lemon juice
1 tsp mint
Puree everything and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm, then cool water.

STRAWBERRY DRAWING MASK
1/2 c Strawberries, very ripe
1/4 c Cornstarch
Mix strawberries and cornstarch together to make a paste and apply it to your face, avoiding the delicate area around your eyes. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.

CITRUS FRESHNER
2 cups boiling water
1 vitamin C (a preservative)
Lemon peel (zest) from 2 lemons
Dissolve the vitamin in water. In a glass bowl put the lemon zest and pour the water over them. Let it sit over night. Remove the zest and put in a spray bottle. You can use any type of citrus peel.

BLEMISHED SKIN MASK
1 Tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 T Instant style oatmeal or old-fashioned rolled oats
Blend everything until just combined. Apply to skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on blemished areas: cheeks, forehead, or chin. If necessary, add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then scrub it off with a clean washcloth dipped in warm water.

I hope this helps
