Help For Pms- “ Think Twice Before Take Those Pills For Your Pms Relief”

Help For PMS- The directions for taking an average painkiller of PMS relief medication say don’t consume more than eight pills a day some of us stop at eight, some of us don’t. If we take eight pills a day for seven days that’s fifty-six pills a month multiply that by twelve and we’ve got 672 pills a year! If it took 672 pills to cure our PMS for good, I wouldn’t mind about the number of pills we’d have to consume but after all this medication we are still experiencing painful PMS symptoms, month after month, and on top of that there’s the drowsiness that makes us feel like zombies throughout the whole time. That being said looking at the amount of medication consumed in just one year, if we kept going like that, the future of our body and health would look pretty dark and scary.

If you read the side effects on these medicines there is quite number of things you need to be aware of. Most well-know PMS relief medications and painkillers contain an active ingredient called acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and because of its popularity many of us think it is harmless, but acetaminophen poisoning leads to 56.000 injuries, 25,000 hospitalizations, and 450 deaths every year. Side effects include:

  • Unusual Bleeding or Bruising
  • Nausea
  • Acute Liver Toxicity
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Allergic Reactions like skin rash, itching, swelling of the tongue, face or lips
  • Death

Another commonly used ingredient is called pamabrom. Pamabrom is a diuretic (water pill) mostly used to help the body remove excess salt and water. It works by increasing urination. It reduces bloating, puffiness and weight gain from water retention during menstruation. But there is a catch: experts say if you experience any of the folloeing symptoms, get emergency help …huh emergency?

  • Allergic reaction: hives
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat

Well, after just looking at a couple of the ingredients of these medicines, we need to reconsider our options. Options that include organic and natural remedies for PMS, natural supplements, vitamins, nutrition from healthy foods, exercise, outdoor activities … you name it. Think of vitamins – when you take them you feel right, because they contain vital nutrients that help to build your body’s immune system. Choose a solution that restores your body’s balance of essential vitamins and minerals that are lost during your monthly period and prepare your body to get ready for the next cycle.

I HOPE THAT EVERYONE WHO HAS A HEALTH PROBLEM READS THIS!

First, seeking medical advice from whomever happens to select your question is like asking the neighbor’s dog what to do.

Second, if a condition is persistent, no matter what the symptom, you should consult a physician (as others have already suggested).

Third, your physician is like a detective in a murder case, she or he starts with careful observation and gradually proceeds to the point of eliminating suspects. Your primary care physician will not start with a preliminary diagnosis, rather she or he will start by eliminating possibilities.

In order to properly prescribe ANYTHING for you, there are many questions that need to be answered.

Where, on your body, is the affected surface?
Is it in an area where “skin touches skin?”
Are there any open sores on the affected area?
Is it in an area that might come in contact with a new fabric? Like new clothing.
Have you been in the woods or anywhere else where you might have had contact with a poisonous plant? (Like poison ivy, poison oak, etc)
Do you have a sexually transmitted disease?
Is there a history of this kind of ailment in your family?
And so on. Get the idea?

Some of the medications that you’ve tried could complicate the basic problem, although my GUESS is that you haven’t done too much damage at this point.

Until you can get to see your doctor, try taking a 10 to 20 minute bath in warm (not hot or cold) water with Epsom Salts. Pat, don’t rub, dry. Then, apply a light coating of a topical cream, like Gold Bond Anti-Itch Cream (or some other brand that contains menthol and pramoxine hydrochloride).

Repeat in a couple of hours.

Do not take any oral medication. (Of course, if you’ve been taking a prescription, you should continue it. However, if it is a NEW prescription, your condition may have been caused by the medicine.)

You probably don’t need to run down to an emergency room.

However, if your condition includes fever, vomiting, painful or unusual urination, call your doctor or his service immediately.
