A good reasonably laundry soap?
I live in a town with water that has high mineral deposits which makes it ruff on my clothes fades them and wears them faster. Can anyone recommend a good laundry soap I can’t afford expensive but cheap just doesn’t get it done!!!!!!!!!!

In general I have found that dry detergent works much better than liquid. So what I do is I buy a big box of Tide with Bleach and another big box of a cheaper detergent, like Sun. I then mix them half and half. When I do a load of laundry, I get the water going first, then pour in the recommended amount of detergent and swish it around so it dissolves before I put the clothes in. Then I take a Downey ball but instead of using fabric softener in it, I fill it a little above the fill line with a homemade fabric softener made with water, vinegar and baking soda. We have really hard water and more than anything I have found that using this homemade fabric softener really keeps clothes from getting dingy and worn out from washing. After several uses, it will even brighten clothes that already have that dingy look. Good luck!
Sensitive Skin. Oily Face. Acne Everywhere. What Do I Do?
I am only 18 years old and I have really bad skin at the moment. I get acne on my face, back, chest and arms. They are mostly whiteheads. I recently burnt several of my pimples by using TTO (Tea Tree Oil) which I thought would work on them, but it didn’t. I cry nearly every day because my skin is just so bad. I have tried cleansing, toning and moisturising but it seems to cause an allergic reaction or not work at all. I have used so many products from drugstores and high brands, and I don’t have money to buy even more products to experiment with. My doctor has given me oral tablets for acne but they don’t work at all. I am currently just washing my wash with Dove soap and removing my make-up (mineral) with EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil). What should I do, my face is just so terrible, it has burn marks, acne marks, pimples, etc. I am so fed up with it.
It sounds like you are very frustrated. It’s good that you are seeing a doctor. I hope the kind of doctor you are seeing is a dermatologist or skin care specialist. If the medicine your doctor prescribed for you is not working—-get back in touch with him/her and tell them so.
Most commercial skin care products contain, “chemically manufactured,” harsh ingredients. These harsh ingredients can cause all kinds of skin troubles, especially for sensitive skin. Skin care troubles from harsh ingredients include; oily skin, acne, dry skin, redness, itching, burning, etc… The skin’s natural protective reaction against harsh ingredients is oil production, on the face.
Consider using mild and gentle skin care products, containing natural ingredients. Natural Ingredients such as: aloe vera juice, emu oil, shea butter, goat milk, coconut oil, green tea, flaxseed oil–and yes–tea tree oil are all helpful for acne. They can prevent, reduce, fade or eliminate acne. They are healthful for skin. Caution should be used when using tea tree oil, though, because it can be mildly irritating to skin. In some cases, tea tree oil has caused allergic contact dermatitis, when it was directly applied to skin. Since you have very sensitive skin–tea tree oil may have been way too strong for you. You do not want to aggravate or irritate your acne. All of the natural ingredients are found in a variety of soaps, lotions, creams, face care products, shampoos, etc…
Use skin care products that are fragrance-free, unscented or Au Natural. Some fragrances, even mild ones, can aggravate or irritate very sensitive skin.
Drink plenty of water everyday. Keep your face clean, dry and free from the spread of bacteria. Wash your hands before touching your face. Check your pillow case for any oily residue and keep it clean too.
There is help out there for lots of people just like you—so remember you are not alone. It may take more time than you want to completely rid your acne—-but everyday small steps can get you to your goal.
