Suffering From Hay Fever? New Mist Promises Relief

An allergic condition, hay fever results from exposure to substances in the air, like pollen, which cause cells in the human immune system to release histamine causing an allergic reaction.

As a result, people experience itching in the nose, roof of the mouth, eyes and throat. Other symptoms include tearing, sneezing, and clear, watery nasal discharge, headaches and irritability.

In the spring, tree pollen is the prime culprit triggering hay fever and can start to be a problem as early as February. However, ragweed, a yellow flowering weed that grows particularly well in dry, hot areas, is the No. 1 cause of hay fever symptoms. Ragweed season begins mid-August and runs through November, or until the first frost, in the majority of the country.

“Regardless of the $4 billion spent on allergy products in our country, allergy sufferers are still experiencing the symptoms and not finding relief,” said Terry Lemerond, founder and president of EuroPharma, a leading provider of natural health products. “To make matters worse, many over-the-counter and prescription allergy remedies are accompanied by annoying and sometimes dangerous side effects.”

Recently, EuroPharma introduced SneezEze, an alternative that could change the way you treat your allergies. SneezEze is an all-natural product that delivers a fine mist of powder into the nasal passages where it relieves allergy and hay fever symptoms.

Recently introduced in the United States, the product has been used by millions in Europe for more than 10 years. Unlike traditional allergy drugs which only temporarily relieve symptoms, SneezEze works with the body’s own defense mechanisms to relieve symptoms and restore your nose to a normal, healthy state, Lemerond said.

“Every day, we breathe in an amazing 20 billion particles and our nose simply cannot keep up,” said Mandy Kraynik, a medical microbiologist and immunologist with EuroPharma. “SneezEze helps to support the nasal tract by relieving the symptoms caused by allergens.”

According to EuroPharma, SneezEze is non-habit forming and non-drowsy and, with just one application daily, can relieve symptoms for up to 24 hours.

Mist Itch Questions

Am I allergic to rubbing/ethyl alcohol?

I work in cat rescue, so to prevent diseases from spreading, we have to use hand sanitizer after we touch each cat.

We have been using Purell; the kind called Ocean Mist and the active ingredient is “Ethyl Alcohol 62% as an antimicrobial.

Every time anyone uses it near me, my eyes burn and water like mad. If they are in the same room as me, one of us has to leave the room because I just can’t handle it. My eyes water for about 7-8 straight minutes and they burn and itch like crazy.

Why does this happen? Am I allergic to rubbing/ethyl alcohol or what?

It is probably the Ethyl, but being allergic to this is uncommon. If it dosen’t happen until someone bust it out then you have your answer.

Overuse of asthma inhaler, sideaffect?

I’ve had asthma problems in the past and just go to walgreens and get the generic inhaler, and thats what I did this time. Its the exact same inhaler that I bought before (Walgreens brand, Bronchial Mist – Bronchodilator, Epinephrine inhalation aerosol usp). Only it somehow got modified or something, because it didnt spurt out a burst of mist then stop, it shoots out mist as long as I hold it down. I was expecting it to stop so I accedently kept it in my mouth too long. I sucked up alot of that mist down my throat, before I realized that it wasnt going to stop. Suddenly, my heart began to hurt really bad, and my throat was stinging, and soon after I got this major headache. That was about 10 minutes ago, now the pain in my heart isnt so bad, but it is beating faster than normal. My headache is still there and my throat itches really bad. Will this all go away? Or do I need to go see a dr?

It sounds like a defective inhaler, which is a very serious problem and should be reported to the manufacturer. If you’re having serious symptoms from overdose, obviously by now I hope you’ve sought medical attention.

Now, on the question of Epinephrine. This is an outdated drug that has been replaced by Albuterol. For some reason, Epinephrine is allowed to remain over-the-counter while Albuterol (which actually works much better and has far fewer side effects) is by prescription only. The consequences of overdosing on Epinephrine is much greater, because it has a far stronger effect on the heart. In fact, Epinephrine works like adrenalin. Albuterol can have a mild effect on the heart, but your doctor would probably tell you that it’s pretty harmless for most people.

The answer is, your side effects will go away from that unusual dose. But you should go see a doctor for an adjustment to your treatment. Now, Albuterol will probably cost more (especially since it became a CFC free spray for environmental reasons). However, cost should not be the reason you use Bronchial Mist, because all manufacturers of Albuterol offer discounts to people who need it, and the final price will be lower than that Walgreens stuff you’ve been taking.

All the best to you!
