Frankincense & Myrrh: Through the Ages, and a Complete Guide to Their Use in Herba Lism and Aromatherapy Today The story of frankincense and myrrh runs in tandem with man’s evolution. Frankincense and Myrrh: Through the Ages and a Complete Guide to Their Use in Herbalism and Aromatherapy Today $16.00 Once prized as highly as gold, frankincense & myrrh s (F&M) use in perfumery suggested an exclusivity as do the celebrated perfumes of today. But they offered much more than mere aesthetic delight. At times they were a life-line to spiritual & physical health & well-being. Over many centuries the use of F&M pervaded a wide range of societies & religions. Contents: History; Botany & Habitat of F&M;… |

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts: gold and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11
These herbs have been used for centuries and cross culturally for both their healing qualities as well as aromatic qualities. The bible mentions these two specific herbs over 15 times throughout the bible (which I won’t take the time to list them all). They were used as ointments for healing, the Egyptians used Myrrh as an embalming agent for the bodies of Pharaohs, as an antiseptic, and burned it during their religious services.
In India frankincense was used during worship as incense. In Greek culture Myrrh was used specifically by soldiers during battle because of its powerful antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. In Chinese medicine both these herbs are used in decoctions, liniments and incense. When combined, myrrh is the “blood mover,” it increases circulation and heart rate, while frankincense moves the Qi, which is very good for arthritic conditions.
Frankincense is a milky-white substance or resin produced by a shrubby tree, genus Boswellia. There are about 25 known species of Boswellia and each having its own distinctive fragrance. Myrrh, is the resin or sap which also comes from a shrub or small tree, Burseraceae family that when punctured leaks the liquid resin.
Myrrh is an extremely effective antibiotic and disinfectant that causes the body to increase its white blood cells four-fold which helps with the immune system. This herb’s antiseptic, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties make it a fantastic treatment for vaginal yeast infections. It’s stimulation of the immune system helps in fighting the overgrowth of the Candida Albicans fungus. And, it is also a good remedy for thrush and herpes simplex.
Today, there are many uses for both these herbs which can be readily found in your local pharmacy, health store, vitamin shop and of course online. Myrrh can be found in mouthwashes, gargles and toothpastes. You can purchase liniments and healing salves which can be applied on abrasions and minor skin conditions.
Just as Myrrh, Frankincense can also be found readily available in the same venues as mentioned above. This herb will more than likely be found as concentrated oil which can be applied to wounds to protect from tetanus and other infections. It is good to help relieve abdomen pain and stomachaches. Women will find it to be very helpful during their period to help with nausea, headaches and if you have heavy periods.
There are many, many more uses for both these herbs which can listed and which research can attest to as being amazing treatments. I recommend that if this information has been helpful in giving you another avenue to help relieve any one of these conditions listed above that you research and see if these natural herbs will be your solution. However, please consult your personal physician to make sure it is right for you.

Myrrh Body Questions
Was the resurrection just the result of Jesus surviving the cross?
Jesus could have survived the cross many factors point to this, some evidence in the bible…
Jesus was only put on for a few hours, even Josephus best mate survived the cross after days and days.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
(dead people don’t bleed)
John 19:33
But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
(so no instant death by asphyxiation as they need to push up to breath)
Nicodemus applied Aloe Vera and myrrh to the body of jesus,
Both Aloe and Myrrh were used for the rapid and efficient healing of wounds and do not correspond to that of a burial.
On his resurrection they touched the wounds of Jesus indicating he was still human and was recovering.
Resurrection Solved.
Even if this was true, it doesn’t change anything.People have already created their story and will stick with it no matter what.
The ideas are completely believable that he didn’t die on the cross,They also gave him stuff like vinegar ,maybe they used a type of knock out juice to make him look dead
(we have many chemical which do this),who knows.
Muslims claimes he didn’t die on the cross and Indians say he traveled to kashmir.
But yes your claimes would hold up in a court of law and Jesus could have survived the cross.
Nice insight.
