Day Spa’s Greatest Assets Are Their Staff Members
Service businesses take many forms and provide a plethora of functions. Though most service businesses have similar paradigms the spa business has one of the most unique and challenging. The greatest challenge in the spa industry is the quality of service being provided since it is, for the most part, a subjective service. To compound this subjectivity it is done behind closed doors and usually with a client full or partially unclothed. Gasp. Hence owners and managers must rely completely on the feedback from clients through comment cards, surveys or secret shoppers. Unfortunately more often than not the report card from a dissatisfied comes out in social media outlets such as Yelp or Citysearch. This is a formula for disaster in today’s society that relies heavily, if not completely, on the experiences of others opinions subjective or not.
In an ideal world spa-goers would patronize your spa because they love the ambiance and all the amenities you provide. Unfortunately, that is not reality! Expectations of today’s spa-goer is more results based rather than pure pampering, though this is still an important component of the overall experience. In today’s spa climate the quality of your staff is an essential aspect of how successful your spa will become. To hire the best you must first be the best, the best at seeking out the greatest talent, spotting the qualities necessary for clients to be happy and keeping your staff thriving.
Once a spa-goer finds that perfect provider they are immensely loyal and will follow that person where ever they go, even if they leave. This one-on-one relationship is very important and should be cultivated with you and your staff since that is what will keep your clients coming back and telling all their friends of the wonderful person they have found at your spa. One final word of wisdom, if a client calls to book with their favorite provider and they are not available on the day or time requested, do not, I repeat do not talk them into booking with someone else (trust me they will not be happy no matter how skilled the provider is), believe me they will change their schedule for another day.

Spa Wisdom Questions
wisdom teeth question from a very screwed over person.?
Okay I am going to be getting my wisdom teeth removed here in like a couple of months and I have one massive problem. I can not take shots at all. For I have a huge fear of needles and anything sharp. For if I see a needle I spas out uncontrollably and blood pressure rapidly reaches not so safe levels(found out at doctors office).
The second issue is that I can not swallow pills for every time I do try I tend to puke due to my heavy gag reflex.
The third is that I hate sharp objects I can not be in the same room with anyone holding a large knife at all and just thinking about any of it at all or seeing anything come near me I will flip out.
Then of course with laughing gas being more effective for the gas has reality little effect on me due to previous trials before which took about 20min for me to fell only partially numb and that was only at my feet.
So are there any methods of knocking me out with something other than any injection or of the above?
there are plenty of medical ways to render you unconscious without the use of needles or laughing gas. Just tell the dental surgeon the problem. He’ll cure it. Any medication that is in pill form also comes in liquid form. Take the liquid. Pill problem solved. Dental surgeons do not use large knives. and you’ll be sleeping anyway, so you’ll see nothing. Large knife problem solved. the real problem is what you didn’t mention. You’re just afraid of the removal process. That’s ok. Everyone is. Everyone is. Everyone. And everyone hates dentists too. Everyone. And I can’t tell you to get over these last two problems. Because no one gets over those things. No one. No one. We just have to (excuse the expression) ‘grit our teeth’ and get it over with. It will be over fast. You’ll be unconscious. You won’t feel the process at all. Later on, just some soarness, no big thing. And within less than a day, you’ll feel ok and glad it’s over with.
