Could my belly button be infected? or just healing?
I’ve had my belly button pierced for a day short of a week and in the last 2-3 days, there has been some redness around the top hole and it has also been a little itchy. I noticed a little flap/flake of skin around the top hole – what’s that about? Should I be concerned?
I’ve been cleaning it and caring for it exactly as my piercer instructed. I first noticed the redness when I used a tea tree oil shower gel (idiot), could that have caused an infection because tea tree oil dries out the skin?
Any information will help thanks

i have cleaning kit that includes cleaning gel, salene spray and hygiene spray (like a spray on band-aid) and sterile swabs that ive been using too
Ha DO NOT worry (: mines like that tooo !! I got mine pierced 2 months ago . It’s an on and off thing like today it doesn’t hurt at all but then the next day or 3 days after it’s starting to get sore and flaky (that’s the pus) and itchy and very irritated and red ! Lol . ok so i’m about to shower, ( i have to shower at night ) and i’m tired of my hair being dry every time i wash it. i can’t go out and buy anything right now so can someone tell me what i can use (that i have with me), and do so that will make my hair less dry, and pretty? Ex: like use whatever shampoo, whatever product, then put it in a bun.- something like that
