Home Remedies for Blisters

Self-Care Measures

The first thing to do for a blister, if it is due to burns is to put pour or soak the injured part in ice-water.

How to avoid blisters on your feet? Before wearing your shoes you can apply Vaseline or petroleum jelly all over your feet to avoid any friction.

You can wear silk under socks to prevent blisters and save yourself from the agonizing pain.

Rub baby powder on your feet. This prevents blisters from appearing on your feet.

Home Remedies for Blisters

You can provide a cool compress to the blister by soaking a towel in a mixture of salt and ice-cold water.

Apply 10 percent tannic acid to the required areas of the skin, twice daily. Continue this for two to three weeks to make your skin stronger and healthier.

Sweating causes further inflammation of the blisters. To get your feet dry, soak them in a mixture of epsom salt and warm water. Do this by the end of the day for five minutes and later soak it dry for best results.

You can treat broken blisters by applying few drops of Listerine to disinfect the wound as it is a wonderful antiseptic.

You can apply aloe vera gel or juice, vitamin E oil or zinc ointment on the blisters to alleviate pain.

Garlic oil also helps in disinfecting the infected blisters.

Dab blisters with witch hazel at least four times a day. This would relieve pain and also help in drying process of the blister due to the presence of astringent tannins.

Zinc Ointment Questions

i have a jock itch, does it mix with either vaseline, baby powder or bactrician zinc anti ointment cream?

i went to a doctor about the groin irritated skin and he prescribed bactrician zinc ointment or something

after a week of use it went away but then my scrotum started itching and it too had irritated skin that hurts whenever i sweat, so it stings

people have recommended baby powder to keep the area dry, and vaseline to moisutirize the area in case it is dry skin

my question is that, which one should i use, can i use both, and should i still use the bacitrician zinc ointment even though its past a weeks a time since my doctor told me to stop using it?

don’t put Vaseline on it.get a powder for jock itch,or anti fungal spray.

How can I tell if my son is allergic to diapers or rash creams?

My son got a diaper rash cream and we put diaper rash cream (the white stuff- any kind) and he just got worse and worse. So we stopped and just put on A&D regular ointment. So he got better quickly. Then we put a pampers vs his regular huggie diapers (because his nana buys pampers thats the brand she always used for her kids) but once we put the pampers on him he got a rash right away (he had no signs of a rash prior to putting that diaper on) then once we put the pampers diaper on him he got a horrible rash almost instantly.

Could he be allergic to zinc diaper rash creams, and pampers diapers?

Each incident was on separate occasions and he’s always had these reactions to pampers (doesn’t ware them often at all). When each event took place they were with in several months. Like the rash cream happened back in february while the pampers thing just happened.

yea he could. pampers are scented and huggies are not. and i use the clear diaper rash creams always. the white cream clumps up and doesn’t spread thin enough for my taste.
